Publication Frequency

Revista Arquivos Catarinenses de Medicina is published quarterly, with issues released in March, June, September and December. Submissions remain open all year round, so articles can be received continuously.

Open Access Policy

The journal follows the Open Access model, providing free and immediate access to all of its content. This policy rests on the principle that making scientific knowledge widely available increases the social, academic and professional impact of the research published.

History of the Journal

Revista Arquivos Catarinenses de Medicina is the scientific journal of Associação Catarinense de Medicina (ACM), created to support the scientific development, the professional updating and the continuing education of physicians and other health professionals.

  • First issue: April 1957, in print.
  • Move to digital format: 31 March 2004, in line with international standards of scientific communication.
  • Management: under the coordination of the ACM Scientific Board.

Over the years the journal has established itself as a vehicle for scientific communication, joining databases such as LILACS and BIREME, and being assessed by CAPES with a Qualis ranking in several fields.

Published quarterly and with a permanent call for authors, the journal maintains its commitment to the rapid, ethical and well-qualified dissemination of scientific knowledge.
