APPLICATION OF NANOFAT ADJUVANT TO SKIN GRAFT
Keywords:
Nanofat, Microfat, Fat graftAbstract
Fat transfer has evolved from simple grafting techniques injection of smaller samples (microfat) and stem cells derived from adipose tissue (nanofat). While microfat aims to create volume in tissues, nanofat has demonstrated a regenerative effect, dueto concentrations of adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs). Therefore, benefits are likely to be expected from using nanofat in restorative procedures such as skin grafting. A 48-year-old patient presented with foot injury that involved bilateral partial amputation. Subsequently, a skin graft using nanofat was indicated on right foot, with better revolution when compared to a graft on the left foot not treated with fat. New fat graft transfer techniques are likely to be good options for aesthetic and regenerative procedures. However, further research is need before expanding the use of these products the clinical setting.
