Abstract

Carcinoma sebaceous is a malignant, aggressive and rare tumor, originating from the epithelium of the sebaceous glands, most commonly located in the head and neck. It is more common in women, in elderly patients, and can simulate ophthalmological pathologies. Its etiology is not well defined, can be presenting association with Muir-Torre syndrome, an autosomal dominant disease, in which sebaceous carcinoma is associated with visceral cancer, most often gastrointestinal tumors. The objective of this study is to report the case of a patient with a vegetating lesion in the left lower eyelid, whose diagnosis was conclusive for sebaceous carcinoma. Therefore, an active search for visceral neoplasms was carried out, establishing the diagnosis of sigmoid tumor.
