BENEFITS OF LIPOGRAFTING IN THE TREATMENT OF COMPLEX WOUNDS
Keywords:
Fat grafting, Complex Wounds, Adipose tissueAbstract
Objective: To demonstrate the benefits of using adipose tissue in the treatment of complex wounds,
Case study: Selection of ten patients with complex wounds, all from the Hospital de Base Ary Pinheiro, Porto Velho-RO between the years 2020 and 2021. Method: The autogenous aspirated “in natura” adipose tissue was grafted on the edges of the lesions and deposited in the open wound area,
Result: In eight cases with exposure of small bone or tendon or little granulation tissue, satisfactory results were obtained. In two cases with exposure of bone and tendon with larger dimensions, the result was unsatisfactory. Discussion: The use of liposuctioned adipose tissue to cover small exposed noble structures is a viable therapeutic option, as well as in wounds with little granulation.
Conclusion: Fat grafting is a viable option for covering complex wounds with exposure of small-sized noble tissues.
