LATERAL EXTERNAL OSTEOTOMY: FRESH-CADAVER STUDY
Keywords:
Osteotomy, Rhinoplasty, AsimmetryAbstract
The lateral osteotomy is an important element in rhinoplasty. It is usually performed by the end of the surgery and its indicated according to the necessity of narrowing a wide nasal base, determining the success of the procedure. We have the possibility of fracturing the nose with two techniques: internal and continuous or external and punctiform. The study done in fresh-cadavers through the realization of the external lateral osteotomy followed by the dissection and evaluation of the fracture result shows the safety, control, external visualization, reproducibility of the technique and it’s characteristics, proving that it is an effective technique, with safe and predictable results
