TOTAL THIGH FLAP (GIORGIADE) FOR COMPLEX PRESSURE ULCER COVERING

The total thigh flap is an extensive and complex surgical procedure usually used to paraplegic patients who were submitted to femural osteomyelitis treatment and secondly need cutaneous covering. This flap allows extensive defects covering, has wide rotation arcs and bulky tissues. In this article, we present a case report of this flap initially described by Giorgiade for covering an extensive isquial and sacral pressure ulcer after femoral disarticulation.
