SÍNDROME DE WALLENBERG ASSOCIADO A DISSECÇÃO DE ARTÉRIA VERTEBRAL PÓS-QUIROPRAXIA CERVICAL: RELATO DE CASO

Aproximadamente 15-20% dos Acidentes Vasculares Cerebrais (AVC) isquêmicos acometem a região do tronco encefálico. A Síndrome de Wallenberg, também chamada de Síndrome Bulbar Lateral, caracteriza-se pela isquemia da região dorso lateral do bulbo e, por afetar os núcleos do IX e X pares cranianos, manifesta-se por uma síndrome motora ou sensitiva cruzada associada às lesões de tais nervos cranianos. Neste relato de caso descrevemos um paciente masculino com Síndrome de Wallemberg causado por dissecção de artéria vertebral após quiropraxia cervical.
