Abstract

Introduction: Neurofibromatosis is a neurocutaneous syndrome caused by several genetic mutations that commonly affect the nervous system and skin. It is characterized by overlapping clinical manifestations, causing benign or malignant tumors. Objective: To approach through the surgical excision a neurofibroma in the nasal ala and chin of a patient with neurofibromatosis type 1 to correct a deformity, a condition that has occurred since childhood. Methods: After the plan was traced, a procedure to remove the lesions was performed using conventional drying, with enucleation of the neurofibroma and reconstruction of the nasal ala. Results: Surgical treatment was successful and showed good evolution. The patient reported being satisfied and improving his quality of life due to the results obtained. Conclusion: After approaching, the patient reported being satisfied, with a significant improvement in quality of life associated with facial deformities that affected his self-esteem. The surgical approach with conventional resecting of the lesions proved effective, bringing positive results.
